A dusty VHS copy of this is somewhere on you're single Uncle's floor. Hyperliterate adaptation of a John Le Carre thriller that loses all the thrills from novel to screen. Tom Stoppard's screenplay gives you an earful of details that feature old white guys wearing suits and talking into phones. We get the basics of the story, it's just not all that riveting. Featuring character actors that are mostly dead (Roy Scheider, James Fox) that remind of other, better thrillers in their filmography.
