Me and my friend went #champing ie., had a sleepover in a historical church. It was absolutely lovely, they arranged camp beds (not the comfiest but beats a sleeping bag and a mat any day), a kettle with coffee and tea facilities and candles in abundance. We sat in the near dark past midnight drinking hot choc with rum and chatted and just delighted in all the details. Amazing. Absolutely will do this again. My bed was next to an effigy of a 13th century knight and his amusing lion..(cont)

@IoanSaid Sounds excellent. A good progression for the youngster. I'd not heard of #champing before. I'll look into that.

@aroundthehills I'm just starting in this way.
Our first trip was cycling with my 7yo to a premier inn in London carrying our clothes.

Then to the YHA hostel at #CwmIdwal with more in our bags.

And the other day we went #Champing in #Wroxeter which is when we packed the most to date! Next stop, the #bothy near #Bala!

Made the most of #localbikeshop day and got some gear for our #bikepacking / #champing trip tomorrow!

Was pleased not only to support a #localbusiness in #alfjonescycles but also to be assisted in my purchases by local Junior rider Layla Bradbrook!

SO EXCITED!
Just booked our first ever night #Champing!
Starting from the #ShrewsburySportsVillage, we'll do a couple of laps to get warmed up and make sure our bikes are good to go..

Then we'll hop on the #NCN81 cycle to #Wroxeter, passing by beautiful Upton Magna where we'll stay the St-Andrew #church (but not before looking around the Roman City!
