Something happens in a room when the music is local and the person behind the counter knows who made it.

Music that was previously texture becomes something you can have an opinion about, follow up on, go to the gig. The music stops being wallpaper and starts being part of the experience.

The Pack's business subscription will make that available to any business that plays music — and to ensure the artist is fairly paid for it.

There are approximately 100,000 businesses in Australia with OneMusic licensing. For $50/month, a Pack business subscription means the music in your venue generates direct payments to local Australian artists.

We're also building direct artist tipping, venue-specific playlists, and patron participation features. We're crowdfunding to build this. Can you support us?

I've been slacking this weekend, but for #smallbusinesssunday, I wanted to give a shoutout to someone local 🤗.

This afternoon, I dropped by Cottonwood Creamery & Cookies for the first time and Y'ALL 👀. If you're in Albuquerque and haven't made the drive to Los Ranchos for this yet then you're sleeping on something DELICIOUS! (Like, why 🥺?)

Seriously, the ice cream was phenomenal 😋! I'm including a pic of the flavor I went with, and I'll definitely be back for the others that caught my eye. In the style of New Mexico; their menu even includes flavors that include green chile and piñon and red chile! (I know it sounds weird if you're unfamiliar, but don't knock it till you try it lol 😉.) Also important, the prices were reasonable, and the owners were informative and personable ☺️.

Since it's March and our weather has been in the 90s this week 🥵; it's safe to say multiple trips for more ice cream will be in my future lol! And maybe next time I'll sample some of the cookies as well as one of their savory options 😁🙌.

Fforestfach: Swansea barber shortlisted for UK Barber of the Year 2026

Scott Rice, founder of Onyxx Barbershop in Fforestfach, has been announced as a finalist in the Barber of the Year category at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2026.

The popular barbershop, based on Kingsway in the Swansea West Industrial Park near Carmarthen Road, has built a strong reputation for sharp, modern cuts and high standards.

Organisers of the awards — which celebrate top talent across the hair and beauty industry — say this year’s competition is tougher than ever, with finalists representing the very best in the UK.

Scott said the recognition reflects years of hard work and dedication to his craft.

“This isn’t luck — it’s years of discipline, consistency, and pushing my craft to a level most won’t,” he said.

“I’m building something bigger than just haircuts — I’m building a legacy.”

The achievement puts Scott among the top barbering professionals in the country, highlighting his creativity and commitment to raising standards in the industry.

Onyxx Barbershop has become a go-to spot locally, with clients praising the clean cuts and professional service on offer.

If he takes home the title, Scott would become one of the few barbers from Swansea to win at the prestigious national awards.

The winners are expected to be announced later this year.
