"Emergency services were called to Geelong Road about 7.15pm on 15 February after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

The pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries."

Elderly people are very over-represented in motor killings because they move slowly. If you move slowly then it doesn't matter if it's safe when you started crossing the road because the road conditions will change while you're crossing the road and you won't be able to move fast enough to adapt.

Our most vulnerable people, elderly and children, are the most effected by the unsafe nature of our roads.

Das passiert uns hier so oft, heute ist der erste Schultag #Schulstart und Leute ballern da mit nem Tempo um die Ecke dass kein Kind da je sicher sein wird.

Leute lernen nicht bis man die so teuer bezahlen lässt dass es ihnen weh tut. Das Risiko ein Kind tot zu fahren reicht offensichtlich nicht.
