Today's #canadianbooks by #canadianwriters are books of #poetry: My Heart Is A Stray Bullet by Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm, straight up decolonial and challenging; and Leavings by Kate Siklosi, beautiful concrete poetry based on the leaves of various trees. Enjoy!

My weekly #canadianbooks #canadianwriters picks are (drum roll please) Eating Wild in Eastern Canada: A Guide to Foraging the Forests, Fields, and Shorelines by Jamie Simpson - very informative with photos of most of the foods; also Scarborough by
Catherine Hernandez - a thoroughly Canadian story. For those who don't know, Scarborough is part of Toronto.

Weekly (hopefully) post about the #canadianwriters #canadianbooks I think are worth reading.
Mansions of the Moon by Shyam Selvadurai is one of my all-time favourites. A gentle, beautiful book about the imagined life of Yasodhara, the woman who married Siddhartha Gautama and became a leader in her own right.

Great idea! I'll try to post once a week with #canadianwriters #canadianbooks I've enjoyed, starting with my most recent favourite VenCo by Cherie Dimaline. Magical realism that made me laugh out loud.

@Lynnd @alan @vernilla @bookstodon Two of my favourite #CanadianWriters who have produced many wonderful #CanadianBooks are Wayne Johnston and Guy Vanderhaeghe. Both are prolific but Johnston's The Mystery of Right and Wrong is exceptional as is Vanderhaeghe's August Into Winter.
