Morning (again!) Toots! Now sitting drinking tea. Listening to ABC Classic while friend does WFH. Relaxing and listening to magpies outside, too.
Finding it a bit difficult to get moving after yesterday. But ... Not that worried. I'm not rushing about, if I miss stuff, I miss it. I need rest.

Meanwhile, at home, #RosieTheRedCattleDog is a dork.
Morning, Toots, and fellow Ken Behrens! I am currently sitting looking out at a very pretty silver birch, pine tree, and other big street trees - quite a change from my little Callistemon out the front at home! Sipping a perfect double shot flat white my friend has made, and listening to ABC Classic on the - well it's not wireless, but you get what I mean!
Not sure what we're doing today yet. Maybe gallery? I should check the weather.
But first: porridge! I'm trying a Carman's brand protein porridge, which I'm sure would please my dietitian.
Also - so many dogs here! I got to pat two beautiful border collies last night!

Evening, Toots! Well, it's been a day. I'm here in Kingston in Canberra, having had a beautiful dinner at Bui Vietnamese restaurant with my friend, (yum!) a walk around the block to see what's there, a shop at the supermarket, and an icecream (Messina Italian Nougat, after much indecision. Also tasted the boysenberry.)

They do NOT bloody well feed you on planes any more! Qantas has just got worse every flight on this. A packet of "soy crunchy things"(ingredients including bamboo fibre and salt right at the top of the list) and a cold drink on the Toowoomba to Sydney flight; barely time for a wee; then on the weirdly delayed Syd-Canb flight, a cold drink, and a "snack": prepackaged squirt of "guacamole" with 4 soggy mini corn chips and 4 teeny slices of Chipotle cheese. But hey, the packaging says proudly IT'S VEGETARIAN!!

I ate my muesli bars I brought from home but next time I'm bringing a Bento Box.

Sydney, I am in you! For about 3 more minutes until the flight boards if it's on time ...

Evening, Toots! Well, finally got myself going at about 9pm and packed for #caitycanberravisit but kept having to pop out down the stairs into the yard to see the eclipse, very pretty and red. Usually I would have been packed by yesterday, this trip is feeling very slack!

I still haven't picked out a restaurant or time for dinner on the 10th, not sure how many can make it, or how many need vegetarian? So - I'm staying in Kingston, prefer cheapish, early-ish rather than late-ish dinner, how about you?
Cuisine and Allergies and Transport issues? Numbers?
Suggestions welcome, please, or I'll pick one near me and book?

Otherwise, CMAG definitely on my agenda for one day - I think there's a group quilt on show there in the Canberra Quilter's 50th anniversary exhibition that I might have contributed to! At least, it looks very familiar from my time in the group. How exciting! So coffee and/ or gelato if you'd like to meet for that?

I get there tomorrow night!

Arvo, Toots! I am continuing to play power outage chicken with another load of washing. How exciting! (I know, can you stand it!)

Also chatting with my mate in #Canberra about #caitycanberravisit and ooooh there are other exciting things on I had no idea about! Who's been to the Da Vinci thingummy, did you enjoy it?

Anyway, the countdown is definitely on! Sorting out the itinerary even as I type. So I should know when I'll be at CMAG, etc, if anyone wants to catch up for coffee or cake or gelato, and firm up details if we do want to do a cheap early dinner on the 10th. Yay!!

@caity Nat and Portrait Gallery, along with the cheapish dinner, (if I can work out how to get to the place where it's happening). Also CMAG, if I can get there. 🀣

Don't worry about stopping and sitting down a lot as I will be doing the same thing.

#CaityCanberraVisit

Arvo, Toots! 10 more sleeps until #caitycanberravisit and I am starting to get very excited!

A few last medical appointments to deal with before I go, hoping none of them are going to try and stop me (pbbbbthhht, let them try, unless they ACTUALLY have to throw me in hospital over a bloody test result - touch wood - I'm going!)

Things I really want to do in Canberra, in case anyone feels like joining me, and I will have my walking stick and be sitting a lot:

National Gallery
Portrait Gallery
Canberra Museum and Gallery (there's a couple of exhibitions in there I'd like to see, plus I'd love to see how different the city centre is now)
Possible cheapish dinner on the evening of the 10th?
Or catch up for coffee/gelato one on one if that's more your thing?

Let me know if any of these appeal, I'm not sure which days I'll be doing what.

Message me and I'll give you my phone number, if you like.
