Jeroen BosmanFirst, praise for this #CWTS Leiden Ranking Open Edition. The Leiden Ranking was already, with U-multirank the odd one out among global rankings. Leiden is the first to try radical transparency and has put in a lot of hard and good work. It did this collaboratively, further improving data quality at OpenAlex. That is a huge. The openness extends to code, going beyond just open data and includes the algorithms for assigning topical clusters. I really like the open communication on the project!
Recently @cwts #CWTS launched the Leiden Ranking Open Edition #ranking of universities, in collaboration with @OpenAlex, COKI (@LucyMontgomery_, @cameronneylon) and Sesame Open Science (@MsPhelps). Het is i.i.g. een erg goed initiatief van #INORMS Research Evaluation Group. Betrokken zijn o.a.: #CWTS Leiden, #EUA, #ScienceEurope en #DORA.
#INORMS lanceerde dit initiatief 2 weken geleden. Het is nog geen panklaar alternatief voor de huidige #rankings. Dat zou ook veel te ambitieus zijn.
Maar het bouwt wel aan een brede coalitie tegen die rankings. En dat is hard nodig!
MapAm💜reDone with another round of #MapaTime socialization with university froshies, that introduced them to basics of improving #OpenStreetMap. From #Mapillary verification, #Pic4Review validation, and OSM integration through #MapRoulette. They also learned how to use iD and #RapiD for various mapping efforts of the community in the #Philippines.
