Record-setting levels of SARS-COV-2 are presently being detected in wastewater in:

#Switzerland
#Austria
#Finland
#Germany
The #Netherlands

More studies this week show the SC2 virus accelerates aging, including the kidney. Shortens telomeres, etc.

It's time to exercise #MaskCare, wear an #N95, & reduce contacts drastically. I will not be doing holiday gatherings indoors. We will gather with one tested family.

Is anyone aware of a graph in existence that charts the #COVIDinfection rate over the course of the pandemic (actual rate and/or modeled rate)? Would be helpful to see what is the highest & lowest infection rate we've seen over the course of the pandemic, & how the seasonal infection rate changes or stays the same over the years. Going into our 4th winter with this is so f'ing infuriating.

"In our paediatric long COVID unit in Rome, we issue formal diagnosis of long COVID as well as certificates for school directors, teachers, and all other extracurricular activities of our patients. This is a pivotal step in the care of children with #longCOVID according to our experience, since having a supportive social environment is currently most important to support a child living with a chronic condition."

FDA announces recommendations based on new study highlighting serial testing with rapid antigen tests

Findings from a new study led by UMass Chan Medical School researchers are the basis for a safety communication issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Aug. 11 regarding serial use of at-home antigen tests for COVID-19.

UMass Chan Medical School

"People infected with SARS-COV-2 had more than three times the risk of dying over the following year compared with those who remained uninfected"

"Short-term mortality (up to 5 weeks post-infection) was significantly higher among COVID-19 group...than in the reference group"

In people 60+, study showed "increased risk for cardiovascular, cancer, respiratory...& other causes of death" over the following 12 months.

Increased heart rate alone can cause anxiety & depression.

A new study found that an increased heart rate in mice triggered anxiety & depression.

This has important implications & consequences for us humans, both as a society and as individuals, esp wrt COVID.

The virus causes damage to the heart/cardiovascular system, like palpitations & forms of tachycardia, & that has surely already caused millions of us to experience anxiety/depression.
