The #SMPAG meeting was concluded this morning, the next days are dedicated, for me, to the use of nuclear power sources #NPS in outer space. With the planned return to the moon, nuclear batteries and even lunar reactors receive more attention again. Participation was seldom that broad before. #UN #COPUOS #STSC #space
Already on Monday, the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee started its 2026 session. This morning, the Space Mission Planning Advisory Group started its meeting. At #SMPAG, Space Agencies meet and discuss planetary defence, i. e. how to react in case a Near-Earth Object threatens to hit our planet. Auf nach Bremen zur #SpaceTechExpo. Heute ein Panel zum EU Space Act, morgen dann der Commercial Space Law Workshop, bei dem ich auf die Diskussionen zu Weltraumverkehrskoordinierung und -koordination bei den diesjährigen #COPUOS-Sitzungen zurückblicke.

Heute endet die diesjährige Sitzung des Rechtsunterausschuss des UN-Weltraumausschusses. In den letzten zwei Wochen wurde in Wien viel diskutiert und intensiv verhandelt, unter anderem der von DEU initiierte Vorschlag eine "Study Group on legal and policy aspects of space traffic" einzurichten. Es war mir eine Ehre und eine Freude, daran mitzuwirken.
