Once upon a time, before the internet and subscription services ruined everything, we used to carve bits of data onto the surfaces of translucent plastic disks with lasers. Freaking lasers!

And we did this on computers than were way slower than the chip in a modern car's key fob.

Nachschub für die 90er Retro-Software-Sammlung! Heute gibt es die deutsche Vollversion des Betriebssystems "Windows NT 4.0" auf CD-ROM. Natürlich inkl. der kompletten ISO, dem Service Pack 6a und sauberen Scans in 600dpi. Einen Satz kompatibler NT-Bootdisketten habe ich ebenfalls verlinkt.

Ich bin auch heute noch immer wieder begeistert, wie cool diese klassischen Microsoft CD-ROMs aussahen!

@nflux @EndlessMason @BlueSCSI oftentimes the only somewhat standardized part is the laser assembly & A/D electronics to deliver your 135kBit/s bitstream but then they use some proprietary connectors to handle that.

So Redbook (CD) Audio is it's own format (that's why it's lenght-based) because it's with a strict data density (CAV) to the point that many consumer #CDROM (and even some DVD-ROM drives) had a dedicaded Play-Button that would allow them and their integrated electronics to just spit out digital and/or analog audio directly to the soundcard.

• In fact that's how some early CD-ROM games did their Audio in a mixed-mode disc format and even the #NeoGeoCD used that for excellent music in games and the by far best CD-exclusive extra ever made for a game...

Hab mir jetzt heute mal ein altes Monopoly ersteigert, welches ich früher auch schonmal hatte. Hat zum Glück nur 5 EUR gekostet 😉 .

Ich hab das Ding jetzt auch auf Windows 95 zum Laufen gebracht und es sieht auch heute noch wirklich brauchbar aus. Auch wenn es nicht wirklich gut auf FullHD hochskaliert. Es geht doch nichts über eine rosarote Retro-Brille!

Hier noch ein sehr spezielles Sammlerstück aus dem Jahre 2000. Eine kleine, zerlegbare Mini CD mit der Testversion von WinZip 8.0. Kompatibel mit Windows 95/98/NT, sowie Windows 2000/XP. Solch ein Datenträger ist heutzutage wohl extrem selten.

Hab tatsächlich lange überlegt, ob ich das hier überhaupt hochladen sollte:

Eine noch unfertige, nur für PC-Hersteller bestimmte OEM-Boot-Diskettenvorlage für Windows 95 SR-2. Noch ohne CD-ROM-Treiber, aber mit Anleitungen und OEM-Hinweisen zur Installation in AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS und DRVCOPY.INF durch den jeweiligen OEM-Partner.

Kopiert man eine funktionierende SAMPLE.SYS Treiberdatei auf die Diskette, funktioniert sie einwandfrei. Viele Hersteller passten eine solche Diskette aber natürlich noch weiter an.

Hier gibt es nun auch noch die Windows 95 OEM CD-ROM des SR-2.1 aus dem Jahre 1997, sowie eine dazu kompatible Boot-Diskette mit CD-ROM-Treibern verschiedener Hersteller. Das Windows 95, Service Release 2.1 unterstützte bereits FAT32, Partitionen über einer Größe von 2GB, sowie grundlegende USB-Treiber. Die Boot-Diskette liegt sowohl als .img Disk Image, als auch in Form sauberer KryoFlux Streams vor.

QEMU несколько cdrom с iso образами

Добавляйте их не через -cdrom а вот так. Обратите внимание на параметр "index=2". Число должно быть разным у каждого cdrom.
