"Can you trust that post about Tom Steyer? How paid influencers are flooding into the governor’s race."
"isabel.speakss, purported to belong to a 'so cal girl sharing her thoughts' named Isabel Mendoza and has exclusively posted about Steyer. The woman in the videos appears identical to Jade Johnson, a Florida-based influencer. On Monday she removed the 'so cal' description from its profile":

Tom Steyer is paying influencers to yap about him. Not all of them are disclosing it on their posts

Billionaire Tom Steyer is paying influencers to boost his California governor campaign. State law requires they disclose it, but offers little accountability

"We asked the top candidates for California governor the same 10 questions — here's what they said":

Only four of the top eight candidates answered those questions. I supported Xavier Becerra both before and after I read his answers. I agree with him on these state issues.

Client Challenge

A series of interesting and insightful messages this morning from @conifergirl.bsky.social point out why claims made against Xavier Becerra are not true. Xavier Becerra, a Democrat, is the best choice for governor of California in my opinion. Those false charges were intended to harm his political campaign. Becerra has the knowledge, experience, and instincts to be a great governor.

"Willie Brown endorses Tom Steyer for California governor":

It is remarkable that Tom Steyer was endorsed by politicians as different as Willie Brown and Ro Khanna. Those two political leaders had not worked together in the past (as Ro Khanna. and Bernie Sanders worked together). Katie Porter and Matt Mahan tried to win over Willie Brown, but they failed to persuade him. The two candidates for governor who l like best are Xavier Becerra and Tom Steyer.

McClatchy Newspapers, including The Sacramento Bee, The Fresno Bee, and The Modesto Bee, endorsed Katie Porter to be the next governor of California:

The candidates felt pressure to differentiate themselves, with ballots going out to voters next week. The result was a more spirited battle than past debates.

The New York Times
As one of the few top Democratic Party candidates for governor of California, Tom Steyer is spending millions of dollars of his own money to try to win. He had no big names supporting his campaign. But after Rep. Ro Khanna endorsed him, Steyer's money is paying for very many television ads where Ro vigorously endorses Steyer, and at the same time makes himself much better known to voters all over California, due to this flood of political ads. This is win-win for both of them. #politics #CAgov
This is a fair criticism of one #media failure: "First televised debate in the race for governor mostly bypassed California’s serious issues":

Opinion | First TV debate in race for governor mostly bypassed California's serious issues

None of the six candidates on TV presented a break-out, compelling case that he or she will help California confront its existential issues.

San Jose homeless residents fall through the housing cracks - San José Spotlight

As San Jose sweeps its last large homeless encampment known as “the Jungle,” some residents say the city has reneged on its promises of housing. City officials claimed they had shelter beds for all 109 residents who originally lived at the East San Jose homeless camp across from Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. Camp residents...
