Satellite + radar since yesterday shows the incessant rain, with flash #flooding now affecting #Kernville
Usually the low temperature for the day happens just before sunrise. At 6 am or so. (There’s a personal weather station on the roof, so we have numbers for conditions right here)
Today, here in #SoCal #SanGabrielValley foothills (elevation ~1200 ft), the day’s low was 37.4° F, at 10:24am local time. (Is now a balmy 38.8 F)
Prediction for here is rain and snow tonight and Saturday day and night.

In a new #TablasCreek blog today I dove into the impacts of our recent stormy stretch, which includes two of our five wettest months ever and has already lifted us over our annual rainfall average with more than half the rain year to go. For #vineyards the impact is likely to be overwhelmingly positive, particularly as we claw our way out of three years of drought. Plus… California after the rain is stunning. #CAWx #CARain #photography
Tablas Creek Vineyard shared a post on Instagram: "Winemaker Neil Collins on Conversation with Jason: Storm Edition This week on Conversation with Jason, we invite our Executive Winemaker Neil Collins (@neil.collins.98284) to discuss the impacts of this week’s storm. We’ve been closed the past three days as we let emergency crews get the roads assessed and cleaned up, and restore safe access. In their conversation, Jason and Neil discuss what it was like in the height of the 6” storm on Monday, why this rain caused flooding when other larger storms in the past haven’t, how the regenerative farming decisions we’ve add helped the vineyard weather the storm in good shape, and when we think we’ll be able to get back to more normal operations. Plus, they compare this year to other historically wet winters, share why they both think that despite the disruptions this will end up being a net positive for the region, and talk about what an ideal remainder of the winter might look like. Finally, at the end Jason shares photos and videos from the storm, the cleanup, and the vineyard today. All that and more in this week’s conversation. #tablascreek #pasowine #winterinwinecountry #winterinpaso #rainyvineyard #californiaweather #carain #atmosphericriver #wineconversations #conversationwithjason". Ok, #CentralCoast folks, looks like it’s our turn to take the brunt of this next #AtmosphericRiver storm. For those of us in Paso or (somewhat) inland areas the impacts likely won’t be dangerous. But if you’re near a burn scar or in an area prone to flash flooding, take note.
There’s a good update from @weatherwest on the #WeatherWest blog. https://weatherwest.com/archives/22604
At #TablasCreek, we’re expecting this to push us over our normal winter rainfall (!).
Recent storms have brought a litany of flood and (especially) high wind impacts https://twitter.com/Weather_West/status/1610407072914616320?s=20&t=_rgdhD_-TCD2X30Y2HSfkg It...has been a bit of a week in terms of storm impacts in Northern California. Although the effects of these powerful
