The #LiberalParty of #Quebec took a jab @ #FrancoisLegault Thurs when they gifted him a jersey poking fun @ his decision to subsidize 2 #LosAngelesKings pre-season matches in #QuebecCity.
The jersey read “King of Deficits” and had “$11 billion” on the back.
The party was criticizing the Legault government’s decision to spend $7 million on subsidies for the two matches, as well as for the province’s $11-billion #deficit.

The #Quebec government announced Friday its #deficit for 2023-24 fiscal year is higher than expected, reaching $7.5 billion due to stagnant economic activity in the province...a $1.2 billion increase from the figures put forward when the #CoalitionAvenirQuébec government presented its #budget last March.
At that time, the deficit was forecast at $6.3 billion, up from the previous estimate of $4 billion.
