Knitters please advise!
Do I need to use the buttonhole (& therefore button) size given in the pattern, or can I go smaller without misadventure?
Details: the pattern has a two row cast-off-two, cast-on-two buttonhole, no button size specified.
Last time I knit this I used 20mm buttons, which is probably nearing the upper limit. This time I'm looking at 14mm buttons and a simple YO buttonhole. Buttonband 5.5cm. (Also adding an inch to the body & making six buttonholes not five.)
