New flower: Pinguicula emarginata x moctezumae, HC C!
Quite similar in appearance to A, which is the only other one to bloom so far, but with slightly larger, and slightly more veined petals. It seems to carry the tendency of either parent to not divide very easily…but drops leaves very readily if disturbed much like moctezumae so is not hard to propagate.

Always the most shocking newly opened: Pinguicula emarginata x moranensis ‘Huahuapan’ HC D. It will get a little lighter with age but the stark veins it has don’t go away. This clone also stands out from its siblings, in that the reverse cross has some really dark and veiny individuals but this I think is the only one of the 4 on this side with said appearance. The rest developed some variation of blush-fade petals with white and purple-spotted centers, the veins variably washed out.

More butterwort stuff: singular highlight of this likely future cultivar, Pinguicula emarginata x rotundiflora Aramberri HC B. The stark contrast of white flower with raspberry pink center is unmatched in appearance from anything else in the collection

New video out!
A butterwort highlight for this week's extra vid, spotlighting one of my favorite slender-leaved species. Way easier to grow than medusina in my experience, but equally impressive looking: P. heterophylla!

The coyote’s getting a little excitement out of showing off some of the smaller carnivores this time! Big coyote paws for scale to show the size too: Pinguicula emarginata x moranensis ‘Huahuapan’ HC A seems to be one of the most vigorous of the bunch from that cross, with very interestingly blush-highlighted petals. And emarginata x rotundiflora is, literally, that small at maturity. Barely more than an inch across with a flower nearly half its size on a stalk that dwarfs both. Both of which are tiny by coyote standards.
Embron would also like to remind that the former cross is currently in stock in the Shop too :)

New video out!
An extra vid this week, highlighting another species of Mexican butterwort, a group I haven't talked about for some time now! This round, it's Pinguicula agnata, a relatively easy and common species that shares traits with another I've highlighted before, gigantea.

The first brand new butterwort flower that I’ve had in a very long time…Pinguicula heterophylla x moranensis ‘Huahuapan’ HC B! Why clone B is blooming first when clone A is the bigger one, but nice to see the bloom confirm the expected appearance of this cross. Flowers are fairly large relative to the plant, with nice soft but still rich purple hues. With any luck after the repotting that’s coming up I’ll get this propagating quickly.

#Pinguicula macrophylla flowered! This #butterwort produces a very tight winter rosette, however, the summer leaves are comparatively expansive (35-175 mm long and 25-70 mm wide; Lampard et al., 2016). I managed a couple photos of the glandular hairs, too! #CarnivorousPlant
