ShawnT 🔧🐀Listen, this cat previously had a #guillotine in his front yard and a collection of stuffed animals that random passers-by could decapitate whenever he came out with a key to unlock it. He built the guillotine for our regional #burningman festival (#burningflipside what what) and it went over smashingly. Unfortunately, the City of Austin code enforcement had something to say about it, and he had to move the guillotine to his back yard. Are we going hard enough? No, we are not going hard enough.

Today was the Flipside Winter Art Show at the Flipside Warehouse. I saw some art that I’d seen at Flipside, some that I hadn’t. It was pretty neat. And pretty neat to go to an art show this time of year where nothing is on sale.
I had seen this endless-reflection mushroom garden art piece, but this was the first time I took a photo of it.
Ben CombeeNever went to #burningman, but did attend the local burn, #burningFlipside, a few times after returning to Austin in 2011. I recently went looking on Vimeo for BM videos and was kinda disappointed that every one I found seemed the same: Get the RV ready, drive to wait in line, playa scene, lines of bikes scene, art cars shooting fire, dancing in a tent, then man burns down.

But my whole community is here. Our land, family, all my foraging knowledge, girlfriends, life. I've been in the Austin area for 25 years. It's so draconian.
