NieAWell, I made it through Saint Tail. In all my years of watching anime, I have never been as disappointed in a series as I was with this one. All my prior disappointments seem like glowing successes in comparison. Even Kikuko Inoue wasn’t able to save Saint Tail for me. And that’s all I’ll say about that…
Meanwhile, World Witches Take Off! was a lot of fun. I haven’t watched anything Strike/Brave Witches in a couple of years, but since the Take Off! series is just comedic side-stories that exist on their own away from the main series, it wasn’t a big deal that I had to jog my memory about the characters and main story again. If the characters were reduced to caricatures of themselves again, it didn’t bother me this time. It was fun to watch, and that’s what matters at the end of the day.
So next week, it’s back to my anime shelf to pick my next pair of shows to watch!

Up next from my anime backlog is another short series: World Witches Take Off!. It's the second installment of the Strike Witches spinoff series, featuring 12-minute long comedic side stories, and this time the cast of Brave Witches join in on the fun as well.
Hopefully it'll be an improvement over the first Strike Witches Take Off! series, which I liked but was still a bit of a disappointment, since it reduced the characters to one-dimensional caricatures of their personalities from the main series.
On a side note, compared to Saint Tail - which I still have a handful of episodes left to endure, err... watch - every anime series I've ever been disappointed in before seems like a top tier show now. So even if World Witches Take Off! doesn't improve on the original, it'll still be a masterwork compared to Saint Tail.
