1. Please don’t frame Bluesky as part of the fediverse. They are not. This company is co-opting the community language of the tools that actually do support Activity Pub and are incorrectly claiming they are doing the same.

2. The #mastodon community is not looking for random Bluesky updates to be served by a bot into mastodon.

#AskMastodon Is there something like a Mastodon or Fediverse Movie?

You know like a documentary we could show folk to help them understand how amazing this federated part of the interwebs really is?

Interested specifically in Mastodon and the Activity Pub Fediverse.

Ps. I have zero interest in anything that promotes Bluesky (#BlueSkyRedFlag; dont get me started ).

In absesence of a movie/doco, do you have a fav video you show people to introduce them to the world of the Fediverse, like at the start of their journey.

@techi_ nope don’t dump #Bluesky in with the others. It’s a venture capitalist funded bait-and-switch, they are already doing a bunch of questionable stuff. No this is not the Fediverse nor the future we’re needing. It’s more enshitification and it’s time that we all started having proper critical conversations on these platforms.

Bluesky IS big tech. No no no.

Sick of people uncritically promoting the virtues of #BlueSky as if it was really doing good whereas the whole thing is a venture funded bait and right out of the #Enshitifaction playbook (which was 2024 word of the year).

Anytime someone is promoting BlueSky, respond with your respectful critique and include the new hashtag and make these collective critiques easily findable. With time this can become a big easy to find collection.
