27/05/2023 - Saturday morning on Carn Tiekeiver. I always wake up early on a bivi, unlike Mrs Spaceways who can sleep forever. It started getting light at 3am. Chilly but OK tucked up in my sleeping bag. Just wonderful to lie there, watching the sky slowly lighten and then the sun rise at 4.30am. We got up, had coffee and breakfast. Very sleepy. I like this time of day on a hill. Started heading back at 7am after 10 lovely hours spent on the top. A proper magic adventure.

26/05/2023 - Friday night bivi on Carn Tiekeiver. A long walk up the River Gairn to the ruins of Lochbuilg Lodge for tea. Then the final climb to the top. Got there round 9pm. Our bivi spot was just off the top at 758m. Really quiet, just us and a big landscape. Weather was good, little wind and dry. Temp dropped to 4 overnight. So light at this time of year. Didn't sleep long but really enjoyed being tucked up in my bivi gazing up at the slowly changing skies, clouds and stars.

TFW you get a nice taut pitch sorted. This #tent is asymmetrical which doesn't make it the easiest to get right ! It's a #3FUL #hiker tent, a precursor to their popular #Lanshan range. A tiny single skin tent, best for hot dry weather in the UK, when you can leave the door open to give max ventilation, or there can be a LOT of condensation. At 738g #trail #weight it's far lighter than the #bivi which it replaced!
