If you ever needed proof that #Mastodon isn't “fragmented” or lives of isolated "islands" then just go ahead and post a cute picture with #CastOfMastodon or #caturday tags and watch what happens.
One of the big differences I've noticed on Mastodon so far is that the toots of people in my #local and those whom I follow mostly are about talking / sharing life things / sharing their works or things they like / being funny / sarcastic or just in general very genuinely themselves.
On my late birdpage account 99% of the tweets that made it through were tweets / re-tweets of some weird memes, fandoms, tropes or complaints…
I wonder if Mastodon is just fundamentally different in the mentality of it’s users and people just feel more comfortable being people or if the way I socialise and whom I find interesting just changed so dramatically (in the very negligible span of 15 years since my OG twitter account in 2008)?
As sharing what I think or feel on here feels far better than on the #birdpage I decided to dive a bit deeper into the #fediverse. Thus, I just created an Account on #pixelfed
