@atomicpoet the #BirdSite is/was important for #BeyondExtremeEnergy and my own account to occasionally have information or opinion directly reach gov officials who do their own social media - no other useful purpose - my bird experience evolved thus: got an account to scream at #CheeseHead; started following #Baltimore folks, local journalists, politicians at all levels, climate and energy, and folks not like me (i’m an old white dude). But it devolved into a climate activist bubble and I wasted my time promoting climate activist tweets to other climate activists. I never joined #MetaFaceVerse so the birdsite was my first social media foray. I’m encouraging #BXE to leave the #BirdSite and #MetaFaceVerse for the #Fediverse, but as for myself, this feels like a #HappyPlace—tysm to everyone making it happen
