A Splandida Cornice Geppi Cucciari tenta di lanciarla facendole qualche domanda, ma Giovanna Pratesi - 106 anni il prossimo 16 marzo - è già pronta alla pianola per l'intro e la cantata di "Besame mucho". La signora è ormai nota al grosso pubblico dopo aver raccontato sul palco dell' Ariston il suo primo voto con le donne nel 1946 ("per la Repubblica e la libertà, eravamo tutti di sinistra in famiglia"). Il segreto della sua longevità? "Mangiare solo quello di cui ho voglia, un'infanzia felice e tanto sport". Oggi legge sempre tre giornali: "Il secolo XIX, il Venerdì e la Gazzetta dello sport". Vive dove è nata, a Chiavari, fuma sigarettine sottili e si diverte moltissimo a suonare il pianoforte che ha nel salotto di casa.

The splendid setting for Geppi Cucciari’s attempt to launch her, with some questions being asked, but Giovanna Pratesi – 106 years old next March 16th – is already ready to play the piano for the intro and the singing of “Besame mucho”. The lady is now known to the general public after having recounted her first vote with the women in 1946 on the stage of the Ariston (“for the Republic and freedom, we were all left-wing in families”). The secret of her longevity? “Eating only what I want, a happy childhood, and lots of sport.” Today she always reads three newspapers: “Il secolo XIX, Venerdì, and La Gazzetta dello Sport”. She lives where she was born, in Chiavari, smokes thin cigarettes, and greatly enjoys playing the piano she has in her living room.
