Okay, I got the final project uploaded for my #bass 101 performance class at #BerkleeOnline with the dynamic #DannyMo (as mentioned in a previous post):

This was my third week with a brand new #Ibanez SRF706 #Fretless, an instrument I've completely fallen in love with -- and that I look forward to more learning, with continued lessons from Danny Mo!

@oldmankris Really, _really_ enjoying it. Self study wasn't quite cutting it for me ... I wasn't consistent or frequent enough in my readings and exercises. #BerkleeOnline has been the perfect fix for that :-)

The performance courses (guitar) took a ton of time, but all the ones that didn't require daily practice (music theory, Sibelius, arranging, etc.) have barely had an impact on my after-work hours ...

Next up is "Autumn Leaves" again, but this time the #jazz #bass is playing a #twofeel bass line and I've replaced the piano with some mellow #jazzguitar πŸ˜„

(as you can probably tell, I'm RELALY enjoying this #BerkleeOnline arranging course)

This semester at #BerkleeOnline, I'm taking the first in a series of #arranging courses. It's now week 5, and we've gotten to #bass ... and I'm so in love ❀️

(I've had a listener's passion for #jazz bass my whole life ... )

Our #homework assignments this week were to add bass lines to snippets of scores we got as staves of music in #Sibelius files.

I've been taking classes with #BerkleeOnline for 5 semesters now, and have been having an absolute blast; I'm 50 this year, and have spent my entire adult life on maths, physics, and computing (with the latter dominating) ... it's been so amazing to return to the arts (I studied piano and music theory as a kid with a pianist retired from one of the larger symphonies in the US; her husband was a french flautist, quite old when I was taking lessons the early 1980s).

This is a preface toot πŸ˜‰

A whole bunch of my most recent Instagram posts are actually homework assignments for #BerkleeOnline πŸ˜†, since the previous 2 semesters I was focused on guitar basics. I'm back to #arranging this semester, though (my 5th), and am deeply enjoying it
#BerkleeOnline has been absolutely _amazing_ ... #musictheory, #arranging, #guitar courses (I was formally trained in #classicalpiano as a child and then some more as a teenager), but never took a guitar course in my life, despite having played it even more than the #piano
Then I hit a wall with my self-study of #musictheory ... I wasn't pushing myself hard enough, despite using the best music theory texts I've ever seen ("The Complete Musician" series used by Julliard, Eastman, etc.) ... so I started taking courses with #BerkleeOnline
