i figured out that you can derive the melodic minor scale by sharping the 7th degree of the Dorian mode! that realization inspired this little chord progression, which i decided to put on a reggaeton beat because one of my friends told me he has been really into reggaeton lately :) this one is just for fun, but who knows... it could work as a jam

`The scales are distinguished from the harmonic and ascending melodic minor scales by the lowered supertonic or second scale degree. This could also be known as the "Phrygian harmonic minor" or "Phrygian melodic minor." The scale therefore shares with the Phrygian mode the property of having a minor second above the tonic.`
