Whether or not you were a fan of the #CBC show the #Beachcombers (or even old enough to have been around when it aired!) The story of Robert Clothier, AKA "Relic" the sketchy antagonist of the TV series, is worth knowing about.
He was truly a remarkable person!
Ha! We just did a mini road trip to Sunshine Coast last week. Finally got to visit Molly's Reach. It was very busy but did no disappoint.
I had the Beachcombers theme song running through my head the whole time!
Actually the whole of Sunshine Coast is awesome. Highly recommend it.

Remember Relic from The Beachcombers? His full name was Stafford Taffy "Relic" Phillips, pictured here on his boat the High Baller II. Relic was played by Canadian actor Robert Clothier, a pilot with 408 Goose Squadron of the RCAF who flew many missions during the second world war. He was also an accomplished artist, sculptor and stage actor.
Clothier was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on December 5, 1944.
