Holly BeckerBea Wolf was a hoot! It's an illustrated retelling of Beowulf where the characters are all kids and death is replaced by growing up. Grindle is a fun hating adult who can age kids up to teens or adults. There's so much candy and epic storytelling. The writing preserves the alliteration from the Old English and sounds great when read aloud. Recommend!

It is amazing.
I'm far from a litt major, but the aliterations are never dull, the story is excessively engaging, and I'm all for bringing back the kenning for everything in life.
The artwork is mesmerizing. The dynamism in some of the panels is out of this world. I could hear the crashing of the door. The cheering as Bea raises hell. The splashes or the river. I could hear the music behind.
It's an epic beyond epics.
It is amazing.

Lucas Werkmeister#BeaWolf, by @ZachWeinersmith and Boulet: Fantastic. It’s a retelling of Beowulf, wherein a young girl in a kingdom of children fights against a man who has the power to turn children into teenagers with a touch of his finger. (This is like killing them, you see.) The verse is sublime, the artwork gorgeous. And the story is absurd, often hilarious – but never ridiculous. You really feel a sense of seriousness in it. Highly recommended.
