#BattleBorn finally released a statement regarding the safety of their batteries. They're still insisting nothing is wrong.

Meanwhile Will Prowse is continuing to buy new batteries from them and videotaping them melting or worse just by cycling them according to the specs in the manual.

And the class action lawsuit is still brewing.

When your batteries are designed poorly and get hot to the point of melting...

...call it a feature!

#BattleBorn

OMG. Will Prowse continues to drive Battleborn Batteries towards bankruptcy. This is one of their worst designs yet. The BMS just floats on top of the cells. no mechanical connection. And not even a strap to hold that connection solid. The case is doing the work. so if the plastic case loosens up, so do the connections and that means heat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sQqZKlANlk

Apparently a class action lawsuit is in the investigative stages.

#BattleBorn is one of the most expensive batteries out there, and their build quality is worse than most rock bottom alphabet branded chinese batteries you can get on Temu.

Different model (newer...) expands the case and fails dramatically.

Formerly a popular battery for storing energy, to be used around house, boats, and RV. There is a lot of installed base - with the 100AH and now the 270AH.

The Battle Born batteries - various models - NOW.... are showing questionable engineering. The failures could be devastating to property and life; given where these units are used.

The saga continues with #BattleBorn batteries...

If you have a battery bank that uses these, strongly suggest reviewing. Bad designs seem to be on more than just their 100Ah range. Latest was in 270Ah, which looks baaaaad.

Battleborn failures!

If anyone is running #BattleBorn batteries for their #Solar #RV or #VanLife systems, highly recommend you take them off line or at the very least monitor them closely every day for any signs of heat build up.

Will Prowse pointed out a serious design flaw that was resulting in overheating on the positive terminal a couple of months ago, with someone's battery that was having problems. Battle Born responded by saying it was a feature rather than a flaw.

So now Will purchased a brand new one, and started cycling it to see if the problem would occur. After less than 30 cycles at .5C charge and 1C discharge it MELTED the case and stopped working. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m7DSCKO-Bo

This is a serious design flaw that should be a recall. basically there's a plastic bit in between the torqued nut and bolt. If that deforms, the connection inside the battery gets loose. And as we all know, loose connections equal resistance which equals more and more heat. These are expensive batteries that cost 2-3x more than cheap chinese lifepo4s that will cycle and cycle and cycle reliably.

#Safety #Recall (but not really)

Battleborn Battery MELTED?! 🔥🔥New Problem!

Anybody that has used an electronic device knows they can get warm when you make them work hard.

It's really bad if you make them work extra hard.

It's really really bad when you have lose connections and you make them work hard, because that causes even more heat.

It's absolutely terrible to use a plastic between nuts and bolts in electrical connections as that plastic will melt.

If you own a #Battleborn Battery, check when it was made and watch this

YouTubers (re)discovering #Battleborn—game of the year for 2016 and 2017 and maybe even 2018 according to me—is my new favorite genre. https://youtu.be/Owa6daUOz30

However, the subgenre of saying “I don’t know what any of this does!” instead of taking 10 seconds to open an info screen is… one of my lesser favorite genres.

Remember BATTLEBORN?
