1977. At the eighth round of the Motor Cycle News Brut Superbike Championship at Cadwell, Sheene clipped 1.2 seconds off his own absolute track record coming back from a poor start, to win the race.

I was there and held that actual bike (blippin the throttle) while he nipped off to the toilet just before the start of the race!
