Both out of action - staff not interested in labelling the pumps or saying why, but I guess the good people of #Egham don’t mind and you don’t need their money, as the #Shell charger a couple of miles out was way better.

On #ThisDayInHistory in 1980, #Texaco utterly destroyed #LakePeigneur in Louisiana. It drilled through the lake into an active salt mine, which caused a vortex and drained the lake. The loss of water reversed a canal's flow, causing salt water from the #GulfOfMexico to pour in.

Estoy oyendo el episodio que habla sobre el “toxic tour” por los pozos y el Lago donde abrieron los huecos para extraer petróleo en medio del Amazonas ecuatoriano; es una desgracia ambiental y humana. Hace años ganaron la demanda y Chevron/Texaco no ha pagado lo que debe.

No ha pagado lo que debe porque el que tiene plata marranea en sitios donde el dinero compra voluntades, pero oír la cantidad de mujeres con cáncer, niños con deformaciones y hombres enfermos es un golpe en el ánimo. La industria del combustible fusil es una industria criminal.

Me impresiona que las demandantes en busca de justicia en muchos casos son niñas, jóvenes que están tratando de cambiar su futuro. 🥲
