It’s #BarWeek here in little Buffalo. I’ve had to move two around to accommodate the new Wednesday Night BBQ (Buffalo Bible Questions) thing I’m doing with the priest in That Other Buffalo.
So Mon & Tues were rather slow. Last night the place was packed. Had a few good conversations with different people AND two different people bought both my drinks AND I walked out $18 richer by winning a high-roll dice game.
It’s #BarWeek so I’m making my rounds. I thought Monday was going to be slow, but then a couple of guys struck up a conversation about church and faith.
Tuesday was also looking bad, then the guy next to me started talking. Asked about prayer, faith, how you knew what God was telling you, how you knew if you were doing the right thing, etc. A couple asked me about service times and their probable need to attend church. And as I was making my way across the parking lot there first guy called me back to pray for him.
Two more nights to go.

It’s #BarWeek. First stop was at the smoky bar. Got there just after 6 and didn’t leave until almost 9. Had a really good conversation with a couple of patrons covering everything from hockey and the #StanleyCup to the afterlife.
We’ll see if they come visit church this Sunday, but that would be icing on the cake as I never visit bars to recruit but to simply be visible.
I also may have found a landscaper, as the wife runs a landscaping business.
