@Starcade Haven't you ever watched #BreakfastAtTiffaneys (1961) made just 5 yrs before #BlueMax (1966)?

#GeorgePeppad plays the budding artist being "kept" by a rich woman in a supporting role vs #AudreyHepburn who plays the high class "escort" that he falls in love with.

This is a must see if you've never seen it before.

As for Peppard, I like him best in the TV detective show #Banacek which was probably aired before your time but should be available for streaming somewhere. This show was running "live" on network TV when I lived #Brookline & #Cambridge when I was going to #Harvard.

**Anne Baxter.** There’s a great cast in this (William Sylvester, Alan Fudge, Richard Jordan, Jim Davis) but Anne Baxter outshines them all as a wealthy hypochondriac whose prototype medical computer has been stolen. The performances and the characters are interesting. The scenario is complex and fun, involving an electric fence and a fool-proof alarm system. It really gets the viewer guessing. To be fair, it’s not too hard to guess early on what might have happened, but the journey to the reveal is very enjoyable. Christine Belford returns as Carlie and gets several scenes where she pursues the investigation on her own. Having her around makes Banacek even more interesting. In this one, it’s clear that he really, really likes her. And their rivalry is light-hearted. _Fall 1973: NBC aired Banacek (as part of NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie) in the middle hour of Wednesday prime time after Adam-12 and before Love Story. Against it were ABC Wednesday Movie of the Week on ABC and The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour and Cannon on CBS._ 8/10

Season 1 Episode 1

Decades since I've seen this show.

'The Vanishing Chalice' is a terrible episode of #Banacek. There were slow season 1 episodes, but at least they built tension. This has scene after scene where itʼs obvious theyʼre filling up time. #TV
I'm watching Banacek Special 1 "Detour to Nowhere" right now. Have you ever seen it? #movies #tvshows https://trakt.tv/shows/banacek/seasons/0/episodes/1 #Banacek #trakt

#Banacek 10 (1973) - 9/10

1️⃣ If there’s one thing #GeorgePeppard does well, it’s play a smug, arrogant tough-guy hero. This episode is one of the best examples of that.

2️⃣ #ChristineBelford, last seen in the pilot, returns to the series as a co-star. She’ll make 4 more appearances. She and Peppard have fantastic chemistry. The character of Kirland adds a lot to the series.

Tonight in 1972 — #GeorgePeppard made his debut as #Banacek.

The detective series joined the NBC WEDNESDAY MYSTERY MOVIE "wheel" in the fall of ’72.
