@hollie @sewing In the beginning, I was so happy to be able to help people out when there were no masks in the stores and I had #baliBatik fat quarters to make them with so it gave me a real feel-good project. I even made some XL ones for men who had to work in public. But, when I came to the end of that energy cycle, I was really done! Super happy to be using #sewing creatively and productively and learning lots.
#MeMadeMay2023 @sewing This is a #WearableMuslin of a self-drafted skirt to wear over shorts. It was made with leftovers of low-cost broadcloth and #BaliBatik for the pocketbags. I didn’t like the length, the ease, or the pockets very much but purple is my favourite colour & I did a great job with a stitch-in-the-ditch enclosed waistband and the pockets were a new technique for me. Quite functional for home or errand days.

I can't believe that I've made it to day 8 with no repeats but it's been a busy sewing year. This was the second dress I made at #dressmaking classes in #ViệtNam with #BaliBatik. It was a clone of the earlier dress and I especially like the back darts. And of course, #ItHasPockets! Sadly, the batik is shredding in a big way with multiple small holes and bigger rips so it will probably only be worn at home until it's indecent for even that.

Oops, I posted this pic without #AltText or any text! Anyway, I'm gradually trying to snap some photos of my #MeMade clothes, now that I have a decent tripod and phone. This dress was made about 4 years ago in #Vietnam with some #BaliBatik. I took a dressmaking class and the tailor helped us to draft patterns. I'm happy with the match with the #MossJacket I made last year with a recycled sheet and some patterned cotton I bought in #Sinagpore. Also, new #haircut.
