The anchor in the system.

My visual foundation has always been built on finding the "Vertical Truth." Whether it was fifteen years ago or today, the search for structural alignment is constant.

Here, the Eagle acts as a living axis. Its geometry provides a rigid anchor for the Bremerton city gridβ€”a moment of absolute Zen where order exists if you look for the signal.

Finding the vertical truth.

In the expansive horizontals of the Puget Sound, my eye seeks the anchor. This Great Blue Heron is a perfect "system lock", a single, vertical line of absolute balance held against the moving water and the distant skyline.

To me, this is an architectural statement. I wait for that stillness where the geometry of the subject aligns with the logic of the landscape.

#Bremerton, Wa. What I don't see is #bicycles anywhere. No #shoppers. No #kids. No #families. Maybe the very occasional Lycra and carbon fiber frame.

What I do see are #streets choked with #cars, #pickups, and SUV's. Vast expanses of #parking. Almost no painted #bike lanes anywhere. Never mind protected bike lanes.

#Bremerton, Wa. A city fully consumed by cars, pickups, and SUV's.

#TransmissionFromTheCarILiveIn (Which is a whole other societal problem)

Had so much fun running around #NoKings #Bremerton I didn't take any pictures. Any being posted online anywhere?
