Reports say at least 24 people were killed in an airstrike on a village in Nigeria’s northwest Kaduna state. The Airforce authorities said they are investigating allegations of civilian casualties during the operation. Residents say the victims of the strike included farmers and children gathered at a mosque in the village around the Jika da Kolo community.

V #BBCAfrica : Authorities in #Nigeria ’s north-eastern state of #Borno have announced the closure of all schools for two weeks due to floods, after the Alo dam, a major water reservoir with sources from Lake Chad, suffered leakages due to extensive rainfall. An aerial view of the state capital showed a large swathe of the city flooded, including one of the major teaching hospitals. Acc to state media Maiduguri hasnt experienced such #floods for over three decades.
