So the other day I posted about the #awl #fundraiser happening right here in #Adelaide where some (incredibly) generous people were doubling donations for the day. Turns out that out of a $350,000 target they managed to raise a total of $876,707.
To quantify that in simple terms, a single foster care pack for a kitten runs up about $504 total so that is over 1,700 spicy kittens (or puppies!) that can be placed in foster care to help socialise them, care for them, and get them ready for their forever homes.
But the #fundraising doesn't stop there, if you would like to contribute there's still plenty of great options;
1. You can buy care packages directly (and potentially burst into tears while doing so) - https://fundraising.awl.org.au/shop
2. You can give them cold hard cash - https://awl.org.au/donate/support-awl
3. You can sponsor a beast directly - https://awl.org.au/sponsor-an-animal
4. You can donate items (please check the list first!) - https://awl.org.au/donate-items
5. If you need to board your creature in #SA, the AWL can help with that - https://awl.org.au/boarding
6. Or, you can simply just shop at one of their op shops - https://awl.org.au/shop-at-our-thrift-shops
If you have some change to spare, and want to support a great cause, the AWL is getting donations doubled for the rest of today - https://fundraising.awl.org.au/event/giving-day-2025/support1
They do amazing work, and rely heavily on donations to keep going. Aside from donations, on their main website you can also directly purchase items for animals in their care; everything from food bowls and toys to toothbrushes they can use to comfort orphaned kittens with by simulating being groomed by their mother (and yes, that is as heartbreaking as it sounds).
