#luxembourg #workers #ai #finding #highlyskilled #realestate #impact #ai… | Jordi Cabot
I read that #Luxembourg needs +250.000 #workers by 2030. But is this true in the current #AI times? The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (see also the story in Luxembourg Times) estimates that Luxembourg 🇱🇺 will need another 270,000 workers 👷🧑⚕️👩🎓👨🏫🧑🏭👩💻 by 2030 If the figure is correct, this poses a major problem: - #Finding so many workers (especially #highlyskilled ones) is a challenge - 3Integrating so many new people in the Luxembourg ecosystem will not be easy in an already tensioned #realestate market (plus transportation and many other services). But I think we need to start taking into account the #impact of #AI in these estimations. IMHO, the real question is how many of these workers need to be #human workers? Note that it's not about firing people, it's about #augmenting current #employees and #automating more tasks to reduce the need for new #hires. Some companies (#shopify #CEO memo is a clear example) already mandate all workers use AI. And ask you to justify why an AI #agent couldn't do the job when requesting a new hire for a team. And in the #software domain, we can add #lowcode to the mix to automate even more #development, again empowering developers to do more and better software. Not via "vibe coding" but via "vibe modeling" (link in the comments). From what I've been hearing (e.g. in presentations at the #SCynergy event), Luxembourg's government is fully aware of the potential benefits of AI and already exploring how to leverage in the future. This is not an easy path (AI still has biases, is not really multi-cultural,... as I also discussed recently) and will need lots of #education. But all things considered, is easier than finding 300K new qualified #international #talent 🤔
