As a researcher, I'm usually at the intersection of #FanStudies, #AudienceStudies, #MediaIndustries, and #TelevisionStudies.

My earlier work was in 21st century #Television, I've looked at #SocialMedia and #RealityTV, and recently been working in #AppropriateFandom. My next big project will hopefully be in digital #MediaPiracy, with a focus on #TelevisionPiracy.

I'm pleased to share that the volume I co-edited with Peter Kirwan, "Shakespeare's Audiences", is now available in paperback from Routledge. Bonus: it's currently on sale as well, for just $39.16! https://www.routledge.com/Shakespeares-Audiences/Pangallo-Kirwan/p/book/9780367715489 #Shakespeare #theater #audiencestudies #performance
Shakespeare’s Audiences

Shakespeare wrote for a theater in which the audience was understood to be, and at times invited to be, active and participatory. How have Shakespeare’s audiences, from the sixteenth century to the present, responded to that invitation? In what ways have consumers across different cultural contexts, periods, and platforms engaged with the performance of Shakespeare’s plays? What are some of the different approaches taken by scholars today in thinking about the role of Shakespeare's audiences
