Look at this cute little #ESP32 module! 🤩

It has a 128x128px 0.85" IPS screen, which can be pressed inwards to trigger a momentary button. And, of course, USB-C.

One of the problems with this setup, I can't boot the tablet with the AtomS3 plugged in - it causes xinput to re-assign the ID numbers :-( This also seemed to happen if the tablet goes to suspend (??)
The other is I messed up with my key assignments, and put to different icons for toggling the finger touch on and off. (easy to fix, but I'm not sure what I should use the other icon for now).
Another small issue is gmail will open more then once if you hit the gmail icon again.

Because I got tired trying to figure out why the 'A1' and 'A2' buttons don't work on my #Panasonic #FZG1 #Tablet -
I made a USB OTG Keyboard using a #M5Stack #AtomS3 Officially the AtomS3 doesn't support OTG, but a little trick with the serial port and it worked. Each Icon sends a "Ctrl-Shift" and letter, and I mapped each to a keyboard shortcut in #LinuxMint #Cinnamon #Desktop A couple of small issues, but generally it works really well.

I just tried ESP-NOW for the first time. I'm totally impressed and will be using it in low power projects. My simple experiment sends a short ping to an always-on listener and gets a response with useful data. The total time for WiFi init + ping + response + WiFi deinit is 20-24ms. In poor RF conditions it went as long as 44ms. Pictured is the #ATOMS3 acting as the data requester.
