Given how widely recommended Optic was as an #OpenAPI tool, I'm surprised I haven't seen more discussion about #Atlassian embrace & extinguishing it - acquired April 2024, officially abandoned January 2026

Is this a sign of how thin the #OpenSource community is stretched, that nobody in the community has the resources for a fork or replacement?

Received in the work email from #Atlassian (tracking query-parameters removed for privacy). Not sure "trust" is the word I'd use, but they refuse to acknowledge my true feelings about this.

They're ending Compass as a product. Announced it two days ago. We've been planning for Compass for about 18 months and are just about to start executing en masse with it, and they're yanking the product.
