Received in the work email from #Atlassian (tracking query-parameters removed for privacy). Not sure "trust" is the word I'd use, but they refuse to acknowledge my true feelings about this.
I guess I have a date for my resignation letter.

You trust Atlassian with some of your most business‑critical work, and we take that responsibility seriously, especially when it comes to keeping your data safe.
AI is already multiplying what teams can accomplish, from agents that simplify complex workflows to enterprise search and chat that quickly surface the right context when it matters.
With richer, more diverse customer data and usage patterns, we can deliver enhanced AI capabilities that unlock the full value of AI across your organization more effectively. As a result, we're updating how we use metadata and in‑app data so we can improve our apps and AI experiences for all customers. This change and the updated legal terms apply to all Atlassian cloud customers effective August 17, 2026.

Only data in Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management is currently in‑scope. Because our records indicate you do not currently have an active plan for Jira, Jira Service Management, or Confluence, there is no impact to your Atlassian organization and/or domain at this time.
What do you need to know?
Before we use metadata or in‑app data from any app, we’ll introduce in-app settings that allow you to manage data contribution across all of your Atlassian cloud apps. Initially, these settings will apply to data in Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
