Artscape 2026

Another Artscape weekend has come and gone. This year’s art festival was held in the neighborhood surrounding city hall. War Memorial Plaza was home to the main stage, while the Memorial itself hosted the Scout Art Fair.

For the past few years the weather hasn’t been particularly friendly to Artscape and this year was no different. It rained most of the day on Saturday and for a good bit of the morning on Sunday. If there was an offical visitor count, I have no idea what it was. My calibrated eye suggests – oh I don’t know as I’m really no good at this type of estimation. There were a lot of people having a good time.

From my own point of view, I like Artscape in the heat. July was ideal. Yes, it was hot – in some cases extremely hot. However, this is Baltimore and we’re used to hot and humid summers. Maybe that’s just me – oh well.

Old and in the way. I recognize only one group on the #Artscape schedule this weekend, the Kolodners.

Not quite 10 bands I saw live at #Artscape in #Baltimore. The wikipedia page has no acts listed post 2016, though the event continues in a diminished way. I remember some not on that list, though it was always hazy hot + humid in July/August at MICA. Memory hazy: try again.
