I use #Mastodon in my PC's web browser in the same way I used #Tweetdeck before it got paywalled i.e. to keep an eye on auto-scrolling Home, Local and Federated timelines while doing something else on my other monitor (like watching the cricket). Home and Local make for quite leisurely reads, but in Federated I absorb just one or two words of each post before they run off down the column. The world is passing me by in a blur. #ArtImitatingLife
