#AnkiDroid is fixed - when selecting "create new user" it correctly asks for storage permission, si going back go sync afterwards worked fine.

missing notifications on the main screen turns out fo be a complete non-issue.

Remaining annoyances:
- default android emoji is ugly AF
- xiaomi forces notifications shade animations which dint respect OS option go remove them, and what's worse - requires more precisión and slower motion go expand notification items which makes everything darn slow.

hmm... after a while with this weird thing (and after configuring finger and face unlock) this is kinda less of an issue than I though as I almost never see lockscreen 🤔

whole migration was also surprisingly smooth and after starting the process basically everything got copied over. Some apps I had go do the export/import settings dance with.

Two apps (whicons and voice recorder) disappeared from the play store (meh! that's why I prefer f-droid) and had go hunt for apk on apkmirror.

and I still have issue with #AnkiDroid which throws an error that it doesn't have permissions to (its) data directory 😵‍💫😵 reinstallation obviously doesn't help. I guess the migration process messed something up but I haven't had time TOS dig deeper into it...

Ich so: Kann ich inzwischen einen Stapel als Unterstapel in einen anderen Stapel verschieben?

AnkiDroid: lol nein

(Es geht grundsätzlich schon, nämlich indem man Stapel einfach nach dem Schema "Stapelname::Unterstapelname" umbenennt. Wenn ich den Stapel xyz also als Unterstapel in ABC verschieben will benenne ich xyz in ABC::xyz um. Aber wieso man das nicht mit Dag & Drop lösen kann ist mir schleierhaft)

Spend way to much time playing with improving #anki deck design =,= :D

But they are starting to look really nice!

One issue I ran into is font-awesome don't want to play nice with #AnkiDroid :(

This is annoying: I got a new phone and many of the apps that I used to use to study Ancient Egyptian are no longer available.

Sadly, this is not really an OS problem so much as there was just one person who was writing most of this code, and they appear to have just stopped updating. ☹️

Back to the limitations of flashcards, etc. (Not dissing #Ankidroid or anything, it's just I like the other tools a lot.)

Ankidroid is relentless. Back when I was failing to learn language via duolingo I was always worried missing a day would kill my streak, and so I'd frequently sneak in with 5 minutes left till midnight and do a single shameful lesson to keep the precious streak going. I was more motivated to keep the streak than to learn.

Ankidroid's like "Oh you missed a day? Fuck you, now you have twice as much to review"

"Oh you missed another day? Not too smart are you? Thats 75 cards you owe me now"

I missed a couple days and still haven't caught up, but I make sure to at least do what I can each night and chip away.

Now it's fear that motivates me to keep learning. Fear of falling deeper into anki debt.
