How just is it if the offender cannot even read documents dealing with their fate in the justice system?
On side note, in younger days I was a volunteer literacy tutor teaching adults how to read.

Only reason he got light (8yrs) is he copped a plea deal. which makes you question the justice system in NC that one, allowed such light deal for a life, and two, allowed this asshole to keep driving with mostly impunity for decades.
