How can the #anchoringEffect impact perceived #learning?

People were asked to guess whether their performance on a word-pair test would be higher than one particular value: either 80% or 20%. And their perceived learning (before, during, and after) depended on which of those two learning rates they were asked about.

This anchoring effect wasn't eliminated by giving people performance feedback *before* the anchor.
