Sand Tiger sharks are related to tail-less whip-scorpions by virtue of being terrifying to see initially, but are actually fairly harmless to the hairless apes who muck about in their homes.

Encountering a bunch of these #Amblypygi (Heterophrynus sp.) inhabiting a cave in the (very long) first day in Ecuador is quite an amazing welcome to the Ecuadorian Amazon.
These #Arachnids have modified their pedipalps to catch their prey, but unlike their spider cousins, they lack venomous fangs.
