La sentencia, que crea jurisprudencia, considera que el uso de aplicaciones en la toma de decisiones públicas debe ir acompañada de transparencia que permita su fiscalización. Rechaza que la seguridad nacional o la propiedad intelectual puedan limitar de forma absoluta este “derecho constitucional”.

As a former public defender and technologist, I really like the spirit of this bill.

TL;DR: The Justice in Forensic Algorithms Act, would allow defendants to access the source code of software used to analyze evidence in their criminal trials. The bill also calls for the creation of testing standards for forensic algorithms and aims to address concerns about bias and transparency in the criminal justice system.
