@ryan another thought i had from https://openresearch.ocadu.ca/id/eprint/1399/1/Poremba_Critical_2007.pdf when it comes to #brinkGames it's best or maybe necessary for people to break rules by their own volition, in some ways these games can encourage that, but is it possible to make people break the rules or is that a paradox? Similarly when it comes to players taking #agency and making their own rules collaboratively, can you build that into the game or does it have to come entirely from the players? This comes back to a thing ive been thinking about of how do you 'teach' people to have agency, or is that an oxymoron? Perhaps a game could foster this by having rules don't allow continuation unless a player decides to take the agency for themselves? How could that be encouraged, and maybe could it be a way to break people out of the mindset of #learnedHelplessness ?
