Beginning around 1987/88 this Africa violet was on the kitchen window sill where I worked. I doubt this is the exact plant, but it certainly is a cutting of same. It's never looked better, to be honest.
African violets are non-toxic to people, cats, dogs, and horses. Still, this bookcase section with the filtered light will be off limits to cats.

This one is from the original plant I bought here in Sitka. I've since added dozens to my collection, but little Miss Pink is a trooper.
I've started several plants from the original and every one is a sturdy, predictable, bloomer.
