Hopefully, he’s planning post-election for supercharging #ukraine’s war effort against #putin and hobbling #Netanyahu’s #genocide… and hopefully delivering him to the #icc or at least removing him from power (delivering #sinwar to the ICC would be a bonus… #putin too).

He’s probably waiting until post-election in case his plans backfires, like his #afgan withdrawal or Carter’s hostage rescue attempt.

So many kids!
The numbers of people from Afghanistan arriving on this dangerous crossing is once again increasing.
We are regularly asked why do people take such a risk?
The answer is simple and yet complex.
In the last days and weeks the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated further, lack of food and medicine is causing massive hardship and suffering on the people.
Add to that a further clamp down on women and girls. The Taliban have further restricted their lives, basically trying to make it impossible for them to move freely in public. Restriction on education has been in place for some time. Now women are not allowed in public parks, gyms, swimming pools! What will they add next month?!
The rights and freedoms of women and girls are constantly being eroded, and the situation is never far from our thoughts. The brave women of Iran are also fighting to claw back their rights at great cost and loss of life.
So why do people take the risk?
1 There is no safe route, countries promised to support those people fleeing Afghanistan and yet do not offer any possibility for people to flee in safety.
2 The gains far out way the risks. Ask yourself what you would do for your children. Would you stay in a place where they are constantly in danger? Or would you gamble on the chance of some kind of future.
