#FOI is pretty broken in #Canada - and in other places. The agencies just have to reflexively deny release on any manufactured grounds, and it buys them months or years of delay, if the original requester actually has the time, energy, and financial will to fight them.

Proposal: an agency that wishes to withhold info must instead immediately produce it to an *#independent* #adjudicator, who then decides within 30 days if it's released or not.
